The X Factor results show for the semi-finals round is finally over and we know who is going on to the finale next week! The top three acts have been announced and you might just be surprised which remaining contestants will be battling it out in The X Factor season 2 finals. Before The X Factor results show on Wednesday night, the odds seemed very strong that Carly Rose Sonenclar of Team Britney Spears and Tate Stevens of Team L. A. Reid would almost certainly both make it through to the finals. The two solo singers have been swapping first place in the voter rankings back and forth for weeks. One week Carly Rose was on top, the next it was Tate and vice-versa. Thus, it seemed highly unlikely either would be the one who was voted off The X Factor tonight.
On the other end of the spectrum, it seemed relatively inevitable that either Fifth Harmony or Emblem3 from Team Simon Cowell would be the act voted off The X Factor 2012 season 2 this week. Neither act has ever managed to climb all the way to the top in the voter rankings. Both have had a roller coaster ride all season and Fifth Harmony even came very close to being eliminated last week.
The first act announced as safe for the night came as something of a shock to quite a few fans, myself included. I really did not think this act would make it through to the finals, but obviously the voters had a different idea. The first act declared safe on The X Factor 2012 results show for the season 2 semi-finals was… Fifth Harmony of Team Simon Cowell. If your reaction to reading that is WTH–you are not alone. Considering how strongly the fan polls were trending that Fifth Harmony would be eliminated, I really do not get how they survived unless the ‘vote for the worst/least likely to win’ contingent was incredibly strong this year.
The next act announced as safe on The X Factor season 2 results show tonight was far more predictable. The second act chosen by the voters to go to The X Factor USA finale this season was… country singer Tate Stevens.
After what seemed like two hours instead of just one, a bunch of guest performances we could have done without, and far too much dramatic music… we finally arrived at the last announcement of the evening. The final act going through to The X Factor finals next week was… thankfully and no real surprise here… Carly Rose Sonenclar.
So the answer to who got voted off The X Factor tonight and will not be going on to the finals this season is… Emblem3. Sorry guys, but it was a good run.
